STAY ON THE COURSE!

There are so many things that pull us away from the straight path that we should be on that leads back to our Heavenly Father. Even a few degrees to the right or to the left can send us off course. We must always be making course corrections to bring us back to where we should be.

This year, as a Young Women’s group, we have been focusing on the theme “Embark In the Service of God” and turned it into a nautical theme, using things like an anchor, pearl, steering, wheel and light house representing things that go along with the theme. The girls have received charms to go on a necklace as a reminder of these lessons. Today was the steering wheel. I ordered the charms from HERE. They will get the lighthouse at camp 🙂

Today I taught my young women girls a combined lesson based on Elder Uchtdorf’s talk “A Matter of a Few Degrees“.

There are so many things that pull us away from the straight path that we should be on that leads back to our Heavenly Father. Even a few degrees to the right or to the left can send us off course. We must always be making course corrections to bring us back to where we should be. Recognizing our weaknesses and then correcting them through repentance is one of those things. Also, filling our minds with goodness and words of God will keep us on the right path that leads to eternal life. Service is another way we can stay focused on the needs of others and on our Savior.
